Audubon National Wildlife Refuge

6/10/2008 Went to the Audubon NWR for a drive around the auto tour route. Weather was rainy and cool, but did see some cool birds (and cows).

Des Lacs National Wildlife Refuge

6/11/2008 At Des Lacs NWR we first stopped at the visitor center to check out some exhibits, including the hide and dried skull of a buffalo that had been served at some event. Drove some of the auto tour route and saw some birds we couldn't identify and deer.

Lostwood National Wildlife Refuge

6/11/2008 Continued SW to Lostwood NWR where we drove the auto tour. Not much wildlife here but nice views of the rolling prairie. Stopped at a fire tower and climbed up, after putting on all the outerwear we had. With temps in the 40s and winds probably the same, it was pretty crazy way up on the tower - the noise was deafening!
